Thank you CB friends.  I have decided to keep my zither banjo rather than sell it.

So that it is easier for everyone, I will add the score for Cammeyer's Fairy Queen and Santa Claus to the MUSIC LIBRARY.

It will be available soon.

Thank you Richard.

Good, I'd had one or two sharpeners when I scanned it and we ended up with too many pages with too few notes.

Errata: in the 1st banjo part (should you be attempting this), the last 3 measures are in 2/4. This is shown in the 2nd banjo part but not the first.

This little piece really sounds like Cammeyer to me. Just has that "Camm" quality about it.

And...for those of us poor illiterate bastards for whom the notes are just dots on the lines...an mp3 to listen to. The 'duet' is really just accompaniment. I think it sounds better played solo.

So, is "Santa Claus" the waltz?

Well, after playing it a couple of times, I picture it like this:

The first two bars, the Fairy Queen makes a rather nagging statement. Bar three and four, Santa Claus tries to make a sothing respons with the Andante part being a longer statement from Santa Claus. The last 8 bars in the Andante part differs a bit from the rest of the "Santa statement"(maybe challenging the Fairy Queen?), inviting the Fairy Queen to respond with the waltz part. The waltz part is then the Fairy Queen speaking and with the last four bars she ends the discussion with the same nagging statement as how the whole thing started. Sort of how many discussions normaly go.. :-)

Pretty fun piece to play, I find. Although the waltz is difficult to to play, musically. At least for me. I don't really get where it wants to go.
