Questions about a zyther/banjo

Hi everyone, first a big THANK YOU to this website host for approving my request to becomd a member.

Recently, I bought this zyther/banjo from an estate sale. It is alleged to be from 1900. I do not know the maker and is in a desperate need of repair that I am willing to do. It previous owner did a bad job on it. I would love to share pictures of it before I took it apart and afterwards.

If anyone could help me to upload these picture I would deeply appreciated.

New bridge Reily Baker banjo 1890

Really loved that old tiny bridge but it was producing a mute tone on the first string due to how wide the string slots were. Gap under the bridge, top wasn't level. Quite a few issues but it felt great. Action was perfect, string spacing perfect for me, height of bridge felt great too, even though its a fraction of the height of modern bridges. So I just bought a cheap two leg bridge, was farr too tall, so I cut the legs off to get it nearer the size I wanted. Sanded down the top with a…

Uncle Sammy (March & TwoStep) 1904..Abe Holzmann

This well written patriotic march by Holzmann is one I'd not heard before. The piano score is in F but in order to fit the bass solos to the banjo, I've arranged it in C. I've included a cylinder recording by the Edison Band together with my MP3 and…See More

"Wow! Thank you for sharing the photo of your cello banjo.  This is exactly the kind of tailpiece I want to make! Is the material ebony?"

"Mine does not have the Stewart "Common Sense" tailpiece either. I've never seen one (or even a picture of one). The Stewart Catalog woodcuts I have of the Cello Banjo do not show a Common Sense type of tailpiece. Here is mine."

"Hi! Trapdoor2. Yes, it is. The tailpiece is missing. I am going to have a Japanese luthier make a replica. If you have the original tailpiece, could you take a detailed photo of it and show it to me? Satoshi"

Hungarian Rag (1913)...Julius Lenzberg

This is the fifth composition by Lenzberg that I've arranged to date. As with the others, it's very well written and takes its name from the fact that he has woven into it parts of Liszt's 2nd. Hungarian Rhapsody, in particular measures 67 to 72. My…See More
