Looks fantastic!   Well done to all concerned.

Trevor

Very, very nice! What a great beginning...!

Will there be a tab for TAB?

Fabulous resource - thanks gents!

Hi Marc,

Tab...?  What's that ?   :-)

Select: "All Composers",  click:  "More Options" and select "Tablature?".  I hope that you will be able to provide as much tab as you can for me to incorporate into any music score to make it available as a downloadable PDF, or as a stand alone Tab download.  There is much more to do!

Ian

Ah, ok. I couldn't find it because there was only a single example. I shall take care of that ASAP. ;-)

You should have a full score for "Georgia Medley", shouldn't you (I mean, tab and all)?

Another thing, will this database be mirrored anywhere? Like we've been talking about in the other discussion, what happens if ning boots us out?

Hi Marc,

This is the first hours of the database. I have several hundred more scores to add, but all need scanning and processing. I have very few tab scores. Georgia was used with permission of the Clifford Essex Co and may be added if they don't mind. It would be great to have any Tab scores that you would like to share and they can be added asap. Regarding NING, the scores are NOT stored on the Ning server. I have set up a fast hosting server and this is mirrored on two other servers currently. If needed, I am sure that it would be possible for others to host the files too as I have always been aware that long term sustainability is vital.

Looks great, Thanks Ian and all others involved.

Hours? Well, that explains it. You obviously aren't cracking the whip properly on your IT crew. ;-)

Well done, Ian. I shall get cracking on a pile of TABs. All of mine are in .pdf format but many need minor editing.

Very Nice!!

Great stuff, Ian- thanks to you and your son!

Great work!  I hope you will be treating your son to a few beers for his hard work :-)

An excellent initiative. I can see this becoming a beacon for all those who are interested in Classic Banjo. For too long, our music has been stifled by the physical requirements of being published on paper -- no longer! This is the 21st century, and we can no longer rely on the old structures of clubs and journals as they did in the old days.

Also, I really like how complete and interactive the page is, and how peoples' contributions can end up being valuable examples of how to play the pieces. Playing a piece without ever having heard it can be a daunting experience, so the more videos, the better!

Great job.
