"Thanks Ian!  Yes, it is fun to have that drone-  it does give it sort of an electric sound.   One of these days I am going to install a pickup (very easy to do).  Interestingly, this banjo part indicates a two measure intro (e.g.…"

"Beautiful tone and playing. I will have a look and see if I have any info about Thomas Armstrong, I think that he used to share a column with Clarence Partee, in the 'Cadenza' magazine."

Thanks for the reply. Would very much appreciate you sending me the scan. There are so many banjo makers in the world it makes ones head spin. Yours sounded deep and with full resonance without the tinny sound so I was curious as to the make.

Sure can understand a computer peripheral going down...lost my printer last month and had to replace it...they just seem to die...unlike a banjo that should last forever. Would appreciate the music when the scanner recovers. A lso is there a picture of your banjo available. I am not sure what a gourd banjo is made of and do you string yours with metal or nylon strings.

Hey, Jason. Thanks for writing. I hope to get back to Jackson, MS some
day. It could be possible in March when I travel to North Carolina and
back that I could swing down through Birmingham, AL . Any suggestions
for a weekday? I think Hal & Mal's paid $200...was that on a weekend?
Anyone else reading this, I will be going through Tenn. that month. Set up
workshops or house concerts? Clarke B. (Keep up the great playing.)
