A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
This is a delightful slow rag from one of the female ragtime composers and is my current favourite. I originally arranged it as a banjo solo but was of the opinion that it would make a good duet, consequently I have written a second banjo part. The banjo first, second and combined scores plus a midi of the duet are now in the library.
I've also attached an mp3 of the second banjo part for those who may wish to play along. The whole arrangement works very well and is fun to play and not too much of a challenge on the fingers. I've added my usual annotation to the solo score...Steve.

She wrote some nice rags, this is very good.
Cool rag. Well done!
This is another rag that made it into the traditional fiddling genre (similar to Whistling Rufus). It isn't nearly as well known but my brain decided that it had heard (or read) the name of the tune somewhere (after some research, I found the title in an album I think I own). It is attributed to Uncle Dave Macon...and is just this side of being unrecognizable. It is a rag, it has some of the components from the A and B part of the original (at least I think I can hear them).
Hi Marc, That's an interesting video and a good example of how music evolves and cross pollinates in the folk tradition. Quite a few of the rags that I've arranged began life as traditional/old time tunes....Steve.
