A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
So, I've posted this on the minstrel ning site as well as on Facebook.
I entered the "Old Time Waltz" contest over on the Banjo Hangout. I play "Alice Weston's Waltz" by Horace Weston. (trying to represent the "older time" styles).
Well, If you kind folks could check it out (and if you feel I deserve it) vote for me to win, that would be wonderful.
If by the off chance I did win, I'd use the newly acquired banjo to try and learn Converse's "Swinging Bell Chimes" using two banjos.
I'm not as modest as Mike, I'll beg for votes!

DONE :-)
Good Luck
Thanks folks!
Congratulations to Joel Hooks for taking third place in the BHO Waltz competition!
First place went to Hilarie Burnhans, a former professional OT player (Hotpoint String Band, one of my favorite touring dance bands).
Frankly, I don't think this competition should be open to pros...but I didn't write the rules!
Well done, Joel!!!
Thanks Marc! I just saw this.
I think I won a cool banjo wrench.
Thanks to all for the votes!
Well, I guess I have to alter my "complaint". The rules define a "pro" as someone who earns/earned over 50% of their income via playing. Hilarie played in a regionally famous contra-dance band for a lot of years (and four CDs)...but you don't make a living doing that (or even 50% of one). She runs a family restaurant as executive chef.
