Thought fellow CB members may enjoy this performance by UK multi-instrumentalist, Martin Wheatley:

He also plays tenor banjo on a great album of 1920s jazz by The Vitality 5: Syncopation Gone Mad.

Delighted to be here ! I made a start yesterday on revising but got side-tracked today. Will post soon....

I had a dig around in my trash files and found one of my most embarrassing videos.  This is why I will leave difficult pieces to the experts ;-)

My teeth were ground down to stumps by the end of this example of attempting to play a piece too difficult for you! This is an exercise in gurning, bad timing, sheer panic and tooth grinding. Don't try this at home ;-)

The best part is that it only lasts three minutes !

Hi Ian - well, I think that is an amazing feat of memorisation and endurance!  I've always liked this tune but would not dare attempt such a 'knuckle-buster'.

Sorry it's taken so long but here is the Whitewash Man. The first version is more or less what I played at Whitley Bay but when I listened again I heard some other things. So, I've done a revision including those although not every detail and flourish is there. Also, listening again, I can't hear the thirds in the first theme that are in Steve's transcription of Van Eps' own score. Anyone able to hear them ? Perhaps Van Eps revised his own music ?

Martin

PS couldn't work out how to add them to the  music library

Thank you Martin for all that work!

I have to add scores to the MUSIC LIBRARY as it involves re-sizing, adding file numbers and names etc. etc.  before the scores can be uploaded to the database file server.

I am busy on other things all day today but will add them asap.

Ian
