He's very good. Plays a B&D Señorita, apparently. 

We are expecting him to attend the ABF Rally at the end of this month in Newark, NY near Rochester (just saying).

He is a great player and great guy.

How about him as a teacher of a group of classic banjoists?

I think he is fully capable. He is a musician of a very high level and skilled on classic style banjo.

I would recommend learning by notation at his direction.

It's clear from the replies that he's a brilliant player but it isn't always the case that brilliant players make good teachers and I'm interested to find out about his group teaching if anyone has experience of it please.....
