Cammeyer passed Dec. 22 1949.  By my math this year is the 70th calendar year after his death. I think that puts all of his work in the public domain.  Do I have that correct?

I think you have to wait till 2020. The 1988 law says: "70 years from the end of the calendar year in which the author of the work dies."  So, by my math, Jan 1 2020 would be the first day of PD for the works of Cammeyer..

I believe Richard Ineson may have asserted copyright on the Camm catalogue some years ago. I do know that all the original plates were destroyed when Camm retired in '39.

So, Richard owns it for one more year.  I have recently grown fond of "Andante and Waltz" and "Albumblatt."

As far as I am concerned anybody can do anything they like with the Cammeyer catalogue, the more it is made available to the wider world the better, my concern was that it would be assigned to one of the big music publishers who would not even know what it was but wanted it in case something turned up amongst it which was profitable, unlikely but these things happen.
