Is anyone bidding on this?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WORLD-FAMOUS-BANJOS-CLIFFORD-ESSEX-CO/26...

I'll throw in some cash via PayPal to help if the goal is to scan and post on this site.

I would hope the winner would share instead of hiding it in a stack of moldering paper to eventually turn to dust.

So who got it?  Is it going to be hid away in a pile of paper only to turn to dust?  Or worse, thrown in the trash bin when the new owner passes?

Perhaps the new owner could preserve it for future generations by digital scan and upload to the internet archive?

I dropped out of bidding at £35 when I was told I had been outbid and needed to bid £70 minimum !!!!!

It was good... but not THAT good for 22 pages.

I hope that someone will share a copy, but I doubt it !

not me  ;unfortunatly , i just see Joel ' post right now ...

I am sure someone is rubbing their hands together and shouting "Mine!  ALL MINE!!  HA, HA HA!!!"

... Now watch as the person who bought it intended to scan and share it with us and I will feel like a real you know what.

this catalog seems to be prior  to   the 1928 ' one

the concert grand is priced 20 £   ( 100 $  )  in the 1928 ' catalog

Do you have a 1928 Catalog?  Would you be willing to scan and share?  I would love to see it.

no ; i have no CE catalog at all ; but the 1928 catalog is scaned ine the pictures of this site ; pages 46 & 47

the concert grand ' scan is big enough to see the price

I have the payment book for my Concert Grand with all the dates.  I can post later if there is interest, it is not very easy to read the original owner's name but I was able to make a gray scale scan that makes it easier.

I'll check but mine was bought in 1929 and paid off in 1930 if I remember correct.  It was bought with the Paragon style resonator without flange.  I have the resonator, attaching hardware and tailpiece cover for it.

It sounds excellent with the resonator on but there is some damage to it and the bracket is machined from extreamly soft brass.  So I play it as an open back (still sounds excellent).

I had a hunt through the junk pile and found 2 pages, so all we need now is some kind soul to share the rest !!!

For what it's worth, given the random samples, every Concert Grand I've heard or played sounds better to me without the resonator. And every Paragon sounds better *with* the resonator.

Looks like C. J. Milner bought it on Jan. 24, 1930.

Hi Everyone, OK, I have to admit that I am the one, guilty, of buying the CE. Catalogue !

Anyone who knows me, will know that I am a collector. However, because I had paid so much,

I put it away as my Birthday Prezzy, -70 this year.

After 50 years, I have never seen this early CE catalogue before.

Of course, I will share, with Ian's Help, ASAP.

Keith
