Our mate Joel Hooks has kindly sent a copy of a music book he has bought.

It was produced in the mid 1920s and contains some interesting titles.

I have taken each of the scores and added them to the MUSIC LIBRARY for individual download, or you can pop over to the TUTOR BOOKS page where you can download the full PDF of the book. (It has a file size too large to attach it here)

Thank you Joel..i t was a struggle, but we got there in the end!

I have produced TAB for "Xenia", simply because I had never done a 'polonaise' before. I'll send it (and MIDI) in to Ian.

Yep, Wing them over Marc I will be pleased to add both to the MUSIC LIBRARY entry.

Marc has now kindly sent me the Tablature for this piece...wow this sounds quite a challenge!

Marc describes it as "Good workout in ¾ time"

The score and midi are now in the MUSIC LIBRARY..thanks Marc

My pleasure, Ian. Yes, it is definitely a challenging piece, not only from merely making the notes but to give it that "polonaise" feel...whatever that is. ;-)

Thanks for posting this (and procuring it in the first place)!

This music was printed a at a time when the banjo was supposed to be in moratorium waiting for the rise of Scruggs.

Wm. J. Smith Music Co. was publishing some pretty solid stuff during that dead zone by some top brass.  This is the same firm that published the Van Eps' book and Bacon's book.

I believe they also published Bradbury's early tutor.

I can access other PDF books from the TUTOR BOOKS section but have the following problem with Twelve Radio Favorites For Banjo:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /files/TUTORBOOKS/Twelve_Radio_Favorites.pdf on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It works fine here!  Try again please and let me know.

Ian

I just tried it. Download came thru no problem here at work.

Works now.

Thanks.

And this site continues to build its amazing library. Thanks, Joel--and Ian.
