Wow, I got mine for about the same price and mine is in great condition. I don't think I would have paid that much for this one. The fingerboard looks like its in rough shape.
No, it wasn't me. I'm still recovering from my banjeaurine purchase (dry toast and water for the next few months). I wonder why that particular Zither proved so popular on Ebay - is it a rare item or was it the lure of the butterflies? Can't see a makers name but it has a Clifford Essex look about it.
This apparent rust bucket is not a zither-banio. That's why it got past the Eagle Eye Of Ian. It was listed as a zither-banjo (which he is not on the lookout for) but it's a regular five-string banjo. It's the CLifford Essex special XX model just like the one John just got. This one has a horrible resonator and flange, maybe CE, maybe after-market. This model always sounds better open backed. I think so anyway.
