A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
From 'Buehling's Folio' although the original composer is not stated. I'm trying to get used to playing without fingerpicks (hence serious face of effort!) I do actually enjoy playing the banjo - honest.

Excellent! Well done! I love schottisches.
We all suffer from gurning to some extent. Our Fearless Leader, aka: "reallynicegurner", does it quite well! ;-)
Bravo - that was great playing for your first video here and you looked perfectly calm and composed to me. I shall look forward to more renditions.
Well done, very clean picking!
Nifty playing Carrie and there is some might fast finger shifting in that. Do you have a copy of the score as I don't have one?
You can use finger picks if you prefer, but they aren't usually used in Classic Style.
The great player Rob Murch uses them for classic style, and on nylon strings too.
Thanks for all the encouraging comments.
Unfortunately the Buehling book doesn't contain scores - I've discovered this is a drawback. I'm only just beginning to get to grips with reading music but I can see that it helps - if you don't know how something should sound it gives you 'clues'. I'm currently inching through 'Ellis's Thorough School for the 5string Banjo' which I downloaded from this great site!
Hi Carrie. Do you the tablature for this which you play rather well .I would like to have a try at this one. Regards Alan.
