"Woodland Park Waltzes" by Tommy Glynn (pub. 1892 by Gad Robinson) is available from the ABF. Not sure if it is the same piece...but it is as close as I can get!

Funny coincidence, Nick:

We had our "Banjo Collector's Gathering" today and it was all done virtually via Zoom. During the lunch chatroom session, I told Clarke that you were looking for a copy of "Woodland Park Waltzes". He reached offscreen and pulled out the sheets!

It is the T. Glynn, published by Gad Robinson. I imagine a quick email to Becky (ABF Librarian: jsbanjo@wildblue.net) ought to get a copy winging its way to you if you're a member.

Nick, the ABF library is one of the major benefits to being a member.

It was the funny hats that attracted me...;-)

And the hand shakes.

well thanks guys, I am a non reader so, sheets are no use to me, my usual method when hearing a tune I like is to find as many versions as I can and cherry pick (I am from Kent !) until I can make my own arrangement, in the past I have by employing this method learned tunes from orchestras, guitarists and just about any instrumentalist I can find, I was curious really because no amount of searching could turn up any reference at all to what I imagined must be a well known tune and, it is really a very pretty little tune .

Update: Becky S. sez the ABF doesn't have a copy...and to please remind Clarke to send a copy of his! Evidently she gets several requests a year for this one and has been asking Clarke to send a copy to the Library.

I show it in the 1996 ABF listing but I also know that the old filing system wasn't very good...and often copies went astray.

Nick, if we ever get a copy, I can produce an mp3 file of the tune (played by a computer banjo). That way you could loop it, or change the speed, etc.

That is very kind of you Marc, thank you very much, curious that an obviously popular tune is so difficult to find !

I sent Clarke a text.

RE: Hats.  Every meeting I bring up fezzes.  I don't know why I keep getting shot down? ;-)

That's because Tapis has a lock on that look. I look good in a Derby/Bowler...

Complements of Clarke Buehling!
