In 1907, The Morgan Motor Car Company began in Malvern, Worcestershire  and is now the oldest continuous car manufacturing company  in the UK.

A visit to their web site will tell all. In commemoration of their first three wheeler sports car since 1953,  and as a resident of Malvern, I've written the above march. The web site shows pictures of the car in question. I hope you all enjoy my composition. There is a midi together with the score now in the library.....Steve.

Steve showed me this piece a few days ago and I can say, without a word of exaggeration,  that this is one of the best march arrangements I have heard for Classic Style. It even gives old Joe a run for his money.

Give it a try. I can..almost.. get my fingers around it, with a few cheats :-)

I agree, this is one of the best marches written for the 'jo! Well done, Steve!

Thanks Mike..writing a march that sounds original is almost impossible to do as there have been so many great ones written in the past. I've done my best to make this sound as fresh as I could and reasonably easy to play. I wonder if anyone would like to have go at writing a second for it?

A Moggy March! Brilliant!

Well done, Steve. I like it a lot. Love the Trio modulation to minor. I hope someone writes a second...the trio should feature a 'dogfight' with counterpoint melody from the second (at least, one hopes!).

Thanks Marc, I've just got to get behind the wheel of one of those beasts! I see them being test driven around Malvern and that inspired me to write the march.

Yah, I'd test drive one in a heartbeat. Very expensive over here though. Interesting that it features an American engine (designed by S&S cycles esp. for Morgan) and a Japanese transmission (5-speed from an MX-5 Miata). If I had the $$, I'd be driving one today.  ;-)
