A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
This is something I'm working on at the moment - it's a bit of a finger-tangler for me but I'm hoping in time I can play it more cleanly.
I haven't made a video as I've recently moved house and am surrounded by boxes. It's not a pretty sight! https://soundcloud.com/banjopickingal-1/shaeffers-jig

... or "Joe Morley's Cakewalk" is used too.
I dislike re-writing history, but I guess that as the N word upsets so many folk it is understandable.
Re : "Banjo Town"/ "Banjotown" is what the ABF has been using.
"Morleytown" is also used.
Ermm, I'm sorry to be so dense, but I meant to ask earlier, what tuning are we talking about for this, Standard C?....
Also sorry to be dense but what *tune* are we talking about? For Shaeffer's Jig, the banjo is tuned gDGBD. "Somethingtown" can be played with the bass at C (standard gCGBD) or at D (as in Shaeffer's Jig) because the lowest note is D. But the fingering indications for the fourth string in the score suggest that standard C is the intended tuning.
