Mention of the Morrison March caused me to reflect on  tunes with banjo model names in their titles.

Tubaphone Rag  (Warren Dean)

Little Wonder Jig  (Ellis banjo album no 6)

Electric Dance  (not sure. Initials JEA appear)

Paragon Waltz  (AD Grover, Jacob's Banjo Collection #3)

Whyte Laydie March  ( H. Chalet Garber  {which sounds like a pseudonym to me} )

and my favorite: Dance of the Imperials ( Garber again)

any one else know of other such titles of banjo solos?

I believe I recall a "Thoroughbred" tune of some sort (though I doubt it was related to Stewart's line, apart from the horse reference). There are a couple of "Silver Bell" tunes out there (Silver Bells, Silvery Bells, etc.) and who could forget the "Banjorett Schottische"?

Hmmm. There's "Paramount Rag" by James Scott and "Orpheum Rag" by Charles Frank...

"Ragtime Oriole"? "Oriole" was Gibson's bottom-of-the-barrel-sold-out-the-back-door line.

Perhaps we should write one: "Gibson's Revenge" or "Attack of the Killer Resonators" or something like that. ;-)
The Stanley Brothers recorded Mastertone March in the 1950s.

That would be "Thoroughbred" Hornpipe, by Thomas Armstrong published by Stewart. Quotes used in the title suggesting the banjo.
ooh, I like hornpipes. Is it in one of the Stewart Journals? Come to think of it a few years ago I composed a tune called The Orpheum Hornpipe but it was an Irish tenor banjo tune so it didn't come to mind until just this moment. I wrote it on a crackling little Orpheum number one.

Here she is. It a fun little two part piece that they decided not to use repeats, I guess to fill the page.

Here's TAB (and notation) if anyone wants it. I 'compressed' it by inserting the repeats, etc.
