A friend in New Zealand..yes, the other side of the world.(How did  UK BMGs  get there?) has sent a scan of April 1924 BMG that was missing from our library. I have added it and I hope you find it interesting!

UPDATE. John in New Zealand has kindly sent another scan, this one for May 1924 BMG and I have added this to the John Field BMG Library:

Thank you John.

I find it interesting!

Nice article on gut strings, debate ended on a second page for Cheerio, interesting rant on grading solos, all in all a good issue.

Thanks Ian and NZ Friend!

Not nit picking but, this 'Cheerio' by Chas Stainer is not 'Cheerio Lads' by Jan Wien, neither solo has a second page.

LOL. I had a similar experience, Joel. I read the article on "Cheerio" and thought, "I have 'Cheerio' keyed in, the article states that it should be played at 152 bpm, I wonder what it sounds like that fast?"

I messed around with "Cheerio Lads" for a good half an hour before I realized that it was a different piece.

So, I switched modes and keyed in the correct piece. See attached for the mp3 of "Cheerio" by Stainer...@ 152bpm. Good piece for recording on that 2min cylinder machine. It goes by in 1:46!
