Question for the floor...

I'm tabbing out "Mr. Jollyboy" and am to the point where I'm notating dynamics. The 1st Banjo part has lots of dynamic markings: mf, ff, f, p, etc. However, the 2nd Banjo part has only a single "mf" at the beginning.

Do I simply plunk along in "mf" or should I vary along with the 1st Banjo?

I'm inclined to just "mf" till the cows come home and let the 1st banjo be louder or softer than myself as notated...but I feel I may be missing something, perhaps implied.

???

Well, I was more worried about performance than the sheetmusic. I've left the TAB marked per the original.

I've now looked at a couple of pieces from this aspect and I find some are marked identically (1st vs 2nd) and some have significant differences. I guess I'll just play them as marked and see what happens!
