So, after the EBC I decided to work through the Converse Analytical, the way it was intended, as a study course.

I'm stuck on Melody From Oberon, p. 53.  How do I play this?  My hand just cannot reach that far to hold the tied B and play the bass notes.  I can jump around and hit all the notes, but not for there full value.

There is a lesson somewhere in there, so I don't want to pass it up.

My mistake, I was frustrated when I wrote the previous, and not paying attention. It is that A, 4th measure etc..

I'll keep working with it, I know that there is an answer.

Thanks Tim, I should reread what I write before a post it.
Page 15-42 of the text is the answer. It's a stretch, but not impossible. Keep going.

Before "I" post it.
lol...sorry, just having fun.
I think Frank was smokin' dope on that measure. I cannot make the stretch from C# on the 4th string (4th fret) to the A on the 1st string (10th fret), much less make a noise with it. Maybe written for the piccolo-banjo...
I'll add an extra workout with indian clubs to my practice routine.
I just had to have a go (not the piece of music, the stretch)........ it went easy on my little travel banjo. No way on the full size one until I brought my elbow down to almost touching the head and the wrist right round to the front of the neck. I placed the little finger first on the 10th fret then followed with the index finger on the 4th. Mind you I am noted for doing things the hard way so there must be and easier way. So will someone please enlighten,I've been following this item hoping that someone will post the answer.
