Hi Folks,

If you're willing to donate to this site, please add your name and a maximum dollar amount you are willing to give.  Hopefully this will give Carl an accurate dollar count so that he'll know which plan to choose for us.

Thanks.

Adam - up to $50/year

it seems that it does allow for that but then one has to post to youtube and for some people (me included) that is not a desirable thing. A brief explanation: posting imperfectly rendered difficult classic banjo tunes to a website frequented by fellow students who are all enamored of early banjo music has a different consequences than posting in a place where the entire world may view it. It also feels different.

I'm a bit confused. Does the economy service not allow embedding youtube videos?
on you tube ; it is possible do make the video " private " ; only visible by 25 fellows ; i think you have just to class these fellows in " your friends "
Here's the comparison list:
http://about.ning.com/announcement/plans.php

The only extras that I can see worth getting with the $500 plan are more storage, more monthly bandwith and we keep the mp3 players (which members have argued in favor of trying to keep).

My feeling is since we are so close to the $500 amount, why not try to get it at this point? If, after a year, we find it wasn't worth the extra money (no mp3 uploads, we aren't using enough storage/bandwidth to warrant it) I'm sure we can downgrade ...

With Carl's $30, we are just $40 away from the $500 plan ... I've given as much as I'm willing to give at this point and if others have also, then it's a moot point ... We didn't raise enough.

No matter which plan is chosen (dollars being votes at this point) I'm just happy the site will exist for another year in some form.

I also think we should see if we can reach $500 , I did donate $50 so don't want to go any higher at the moment though.......I have noticed that we get 3 custom domains. Is that not a good thing? I don't quite understand that bit.

So July 20 is the date for the "new" pricing system to launch, according to the announcement on the top of the page. I also see that there's a "grace period" which ends Aug. 20. So I guess I don't need to be in a hurry to present our tithes to our Masters?
I'll give up to $30 ( USD)
or the average, whichever is greater.

Hi,
I would be willing to donate around $25. This is a great site and hope it continues.
Ewe Krumpholz has just put $ 30.-- into the hat.
