“The Georgia Grind” is a new arrangement for Classic Banjo by site member Steve Harrison and myself. This is a great old ragtime tune rarely heard played on the banjo but I think it fits perfectly for the instrument. My wife arranged the piano accompaniment and plays in the video.

 

Please excuse the odd buzz on the strings but there are "Big Stretches" to the 5th position with the “pinky” at a couple of points, and my stubby little fingers won't reach that far :-)

 

I hope that you enjoy it. I think that is a great tune that has been crying out to be played on the banjo.  The score is available in the Music Library.
