Morgan Three Wheeler March for Classic Banjo

An original composition for Classic banjo by my friend Steve Harrison. As you can see it is a finger twister so please forgive the odd fluff..

Steve Harrison recently posted his 100% new and original composition for Classic Banjo entitled The Morgan Three Wheeler March.

I added the score to the MUSIC LIBRARY so it is available to download for those who would like to give it a try.

I think it is a great march, but cannot do it justice, as my fingers just won’t go fast enough and my timing wanders about a bit  ;-(

It is written in 6/8 time and full of single string Twiddley-twiddleys for the fingers to trip over… as I demonstrate in the video!

I hope Steve doesn’t mind me adding my “variations” and playing it slightly differently to his score, but it was an attempt to make it easier!

Come on Steve, play it for us… just audio mp3 will do and I will post it for you. It would be good to hear a composition played how it SHOULD be played.

Excellent, Ian! That's a great tune, well played. Bravo!

T hat was a great performance and I like your version. The video showing the Morgan cars was a nice addition and put the performance in context. I'll have to approach the Malvern District Brass band and see if they would be interested  given the local connection, it would be interesting to hear it played by them. (but not on BJ of course!)

One of the best marches ever written for Classic Banjo -- written and recorded, with immense success, in 2012, by messrs Harrison and Reallyniceman! The rumours of Classic Banjo's death have greatly exaggerated ;-)

Great piece of music - I well remember the Morgan as a "three wheeler" too. They've moved on a bit since those days though. It also, if I remember correctly a "V Twin" engine mounted on the outside at one time.

Hi Tarry, thanks for your comments.. we still see quite a few of the traditional 3 wheelers about as Malvern is the spiritual home for Morgan Enthusiasts  and many come to take part in guided tours of the factory. There are also a number of rallies held in the area and on rally days, it's good to see Morgans old and new around the streets of Malvern and the surrounding countryside.
