3 days ago ; i found the original vellum of my " new clipper " broken ; i changed it for a renaissance head , always with the excellent bridge made for me by Steve Harrison ; nothing 's better for the chicken ' noise at fret n° 14
i play the original arrangement ( UT )
"UT" means Ur Text? I'm guessing. Do you think Daly composed the Chicken Reel part? Good playing, Marc.
UT means DO ( C ) ; original key
i guess played in G in bluegrass & D by the old timers
don (t know and would like to know if he composed " chicken reel "or was an old Irish popular tune ?
Oh *that* Ut ! The older form of Do. Got it. Yes, fiddlers here tend to prefer D for Chicken Reel and bluegrass banjo players prefer G. It doesn't sound Irish to me.
yes sure : and a lil ' secret
ZZ Top = C
mark Knopfler = Dm
J J Cale = D
this is so Secret I don't understand it. This is the keys in which they play Chicken Reel? This is the key equivalent of their identity? something else? Chicken Reel in D minor? The chicken must be having a premonition of becoming soup.
Nice playing Marc. I learned Chicken Reel in D from a fiddle player. I love Daly's arrangement, presumably in C. Any chance you can share the score?
Hi Marc, It's good to see that my bridge is still performing well. I liked the 'chicken' sound that you started with,it gives the tune character I think. If anyone wants to try it, I have an arrangement of Chicken Reel in C in the library plus a midi. I may have been a bit ambitious with the midi speed, I think the speed that Marc plays is better....Steve.
yes equivalent of their identity , Jody
Yes >Steve ; playing fast only for chicken reel , but it 's " Daly buck dance "
yes , Shawn , will publish the TAB
