The condition manifests itself in different ways and living with the person who has this condition requires much patience and acceptance of different behaviours.
Here is an example of the collecting side of the 'condition'. I think there are 5 or 6 banjos stacked, neatly of course, on top of the wardrobe in the bedroom.
Oh, and one more at the side of the wardrobe.
I'm sure there's one in a green case somewhere. It may be under the bed. There are others - somewhere!
Living with the infected person will involve setting up areas to ensure smooth harmony to all parties. Here in the lounge is a stand and music - just in case.
Similarly in the back room a chair, stand and music is near to hand.
The 'medicine' of course must be accessible and this lemon oil is arranged on the dresser for needy banjo necks.
BAS is a terrible condition. Remedies include
- Abject poverty
- Fixing conservatory roofs
- Becoming a hermit
Another complication of BAS is a disease known as FART, namely Former Acquisition Regret Trade, which involves trading banjos for other banjos.
i suffer from the same ailment with guitars and mandolins . My three sons suffer from it to . I blame my mother it must be in the genes
My wife suffered from my G(uitar)AS for many years. However now I feel BAS coming on.
Considering I just received my 6th (or is it the 7th?) Stewart banjo yesterday (yet another banjeaurine), I think I'm beyond any cure. Y'all's pictures sure show neat storage...I was commanded to remove the current pile from the dining room, only 5 or 6 banjos and a tenor guitar. My plectrum-banjo studies have taken over the dining room table.
I'm not alone then!
I think there's only the bathroom in our house which has so far managed to escape infection :o) so much so, I'm having a music room built next year, think my OH is of the opinion that will solve the problem; what he has so far failed to realise is that it just gives me more space for more frets.....
