Austin replied to Maximilian's discussion Right Hand Fingering Question
"Actually I devised a method for this sort of reverse roll. You just use the fourth finger to alternate pick the first string and then roll back with the third second and first finger on the second third and fourth string"

"That's what it usually is. See if there's a loose screw. If there is, tighten it. If you tighten it too much and the peg won't turn, loosen it just a bit.  Usually it's the screw that goes through the button. But I…"

"If you want to go that route, you should first just try the strings out and see if they fit. As Joel said though, you're putting nylons on a modern banjo made for steel so there may be some challenges. I put some Aquila Nyguts on a Goodtime…"

"Yeah, I've done bridge slots with an Xacto tool, a saw actually. If I mess up a factory bridge it's no big deal.  Re CE ebony nuts: some were done with axes, some with dogs, some with rats, some with beavers."
