It is good that at least Steve and I share the love of Ragtime banjo and it is difficult to beat the James Scott compositions.

Not my favourite of Scott's compositions, but still a great rag by anyone's standards.

Thank you Steve. I have added the score to the MUSIC LIBRARY.

This one...well, I don't think the MIDI does it any favors. If you go listen to a piano performance of it, it 'wakes up'. Thanks, Steve, for another great arrangement of a tune I'd never heard before.

Have you tried "Efficiency Rag" yet? Now that's a corker!

Hi Marc, you're quite right about midis, they rarely do any of the tunes a favour but are useful as a learning aid. I intend to try all the remaining Scott rags that haven'y already been done for banjo. I have all the scores sitting on my desk top including Efficiency. I've done some work on Victory rag but I may put that on hold and try Efficiency next. Scott always stated on his scores 'not to be played fast' but gave no clues as to his intended tempo. I listen to the youtube recordings and use them to arrive at an acceptable speed. Most of the piano midis are much too fast.

It's the school summer holidays (vacations) in the UK and we have the grandkids most days so lack of banjo time is a big issue but I'll try my best.....Steve.

I do the same, Steve. I typically listen to the MIDI as a learning tool...and they usually don't bother me at all. For some reason I listened to this one and it struck me wrongly. I know not why.

No worries, you're doing a great job with 'em. Keep it up!
