A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
I spotted this piece of Classic Banjo on Youtube.
Who said that you can't play "Classic Style" with steel strings on a bluegrass banjo played using your fingernails?????
Really great. I love it :-)

Those three guys are probably at least cousins, don't you think? That Bass Banjo needs a head change and some action work, too slappy. ;-) Remind me to dig out my Stelling and see if I can slice cheese on the strings.
I enjoyed that. Thanks!
Really enjoyed this video. He looks familiar but I can't recall where I've seen him before - possibly the Titanic String Band? I also play with steel strings, mainly because converting my banjo to nylgut strings was a failure. The tailpiece cut my first string and I couldn't figure out a way to attach the 5th string. Also, I only have the one banjo and teach a few beginners who are looking to learn bluegrass.
I think it would be logistically difficult for Marco to be in the Titanic String Band, unless the Titanic actually made the voyage and landed in the US.

A quick google search shows that the subject of the OP resides across the pond.
