Maybe not from either maker, but it still might be of interest to someone.

I'm suspicious about the provenance/ identity of the banjo but curious about the partially seen instrument to its right (in the first photo) with the inlaid wooden pick guard. It does not seem to be part of the auction.
I found it on the saleroom site, in the guitars listings,

You can almost hear this poor old banjo screaming, "HELP! Somebody save me from a life of abuse and mistreatment!
A vihuela! I woud not have guessed that. Thanks.
It looks like a Weaver to my untrained eyes, at least the shape of the neck and hardware look like his work. Someone has either added inlay to the neck or put stickers on it.
I would be curious as to what size the rim is with that three octave neck.
While likely salvageable, it might take some money and effort to get it back. It is clearly showing the damaging effects of wire strings. The pegs have ground themselves into the peghead from overtightening. It is missing the 5th string nut, likely sliced in half by the wire (this is not a big deal).
There are signs of funny business with dowel rod, namely the "hack's reset" for wire strings.
