A popular Music Hall/Vaudeville song at the turn of the last century.

This was suggested by Ian as a possible banjo tune. I've arranged it so that it can be played  either as a banjo solo or an accompaniment to the song. There are numerous recording on the web if anyone wants to have a listen and maybe sing along?..The score and midi are in the library...Steve.

One of the best of the "cheesy" old Music Hall tunes from the UK.

Look  at the cover to see who used to sing it... I love it too !!!

You are my honey, honeysuckle, I am the bee,

I’d like to sip the honey sweet

From those red lips, you see.

I love you dearly, dearly,

And I want you to love me,

You are my honey, honeysuckle, I am the bee.

THE HONEYSUCKLE AND THE BEE

Thank you Steve.. it's a cracker.

... ps. Any bets on what Steve's next arrangement will be????????

Thanks Ian, I see Clifford Essex appears on the front of the score. The others mentioned are Peggy Pryde who  was an English Music Hall singer and the other two, Stanton and Moore were both Australian singers. Does anyone know the connection between them? I didn't know that CE was a singer...Steve.

What exquisite timing! I recently obtained an extremely rare 1901 Yiddish parody cylinder of "Honeysuckle and the Bee"  and thought it would make a delightful fingerstyle solo it. Can't wait to try out the arrangement here.

CE sang with the Pierrot Banjo Team and the CE Royal Pierrots.

Ossman recorded TH&TB as part of a medley the name of which escapes me for the moment, I have an Ms. of this medley somewhere in the files.
