I think this is probably the best of the early published cake walks.

Harney has made full use of syncopation with plenty of variation throughout the tune.

This is a recording made in 1905 by the Victor Dance Orchestra, it can also can be found in The Library of Congress National Jukebox.

For such a popular tune, I'd be surprised if it hasn't been recorded at some time by one of the old banjo masters. The score and midi are in the library...Steve.

I'm not sure I'd rate it "one of the best" but it is indeed well written. Actually, I like your arrangement better than the one that the Victor orchestra is playing...and the piano score to boot.

Thanks Marc, I always try to make my arrangements s banjo friendly as I can, that may mean I have to rewrite bits here and there and combine the piano left and right hand....Steve.
