Are these banjos worth it? I found one on the marketplace for I won't say pennies but compared to what some of these SS Stewarts can fetch it's pretty cheap.

That banjo has had the neck replaced for who knows what reason.
Original and unmolested UFs are fine banjos. The problem is finding one that has not had the neck/dowel/heel messed with by people ignorant of how these are supposed to be configured.
It is a safe bet that the UF you are looking at was remodeled with the new neck to have back angle for wire strings.
