There is a banjo with a few Weaver characteristics on EBay the number is 167047143629. The starting price is £39.99 which might be too much

Had a closer look, more Abbott than Weaver I think, I might risk £20.00 on it.

Yeah, not a Weaver, but certainly a Weaver copy, which seems to have been something offered by most of the majors brands in England.

JAT was kinda obvious about it, in a catalog I have photos of they have “Weaver Model” listed.


Turners bought the remaining timber (lumber) and unfinished instruments from Alfred Weaver on his retirement in 1938. They issued a small catalogue of their 'Weaver' banjos and continued to manufacture banjos which were identical to the Weaver models into the 1950s. I've had a few of these over the years and Alan Middleton had a wood hoop model for many years.
