A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
This is a must play tune, ideally suited to the banjo. The composer was the wife of Sol Bloom, a song writer, music publisher and from 1925, a long serving Congressman for New York. The first half is set in 2/4 time until the trio when, with great effect, it changes to 6/8. It's my current favourite and worth a listen and play. the score and midi are in the library...steve.

Ha! Another song of quotes: "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow" and "Good Night Ladies"
I'm assuming that "One Of The Boys" is selling the "College Glee Club" concept/marketing typical of the 1920s. Hollywood would have us all believe college life was skittles and beer, boating with a girl and a uke, singing in the glee club, etc.
It is a nice tune and I do like the switch to 6/8. It is hard for me to hear the switch as 6/8 simply becomes two triplet pulses that beats out much like 2/4.
Hi Marc, have a listen to The Dixie Rag by Al Lewis, he's given Dixie the ragtime treatment and hidden a few other tunes in the composition. It's very good as well....Steve.

LOL. I did...and commented on it just before I did this one. That's why I said "...another song of quotes".
