I wonder why this is not the common pattern today?  It would be a good way to sell more banjos and repair services (almost as good as the "common" guitar stands famous for breaking pegheads off).

I "googled"  the phrase "metal easel" and up it popped.  I'm buying them for all my friends that are better banjoists than I am-- that way I can catch up while they are waiting for instrument repairs.
