One of a banjo players greatest fears is to be accused of carrying a man bag.

He lives in abject fear of being ridiculed by his mates, his girlfriend and even his mum and in this digital age there is the very real threat of his image being broadcast over Twitter, Facebook, and various other social media. Being thought to be the loving owner of a man bag is perhaps a fate worse than death.

BUT Ian has found the answer, well S. S. Stewart did in 1890:

The “Kink-Proof Bag”

… Kink Proof, so it should be suitable for everyone on here. How many should we order?

Hmmm...the "man bag" strapped to the guy in your picture looks a lot like a shoulder-holster...and might get some unwanted attention, esp. around airports, etc. Two cubes down from me (at the moment) resides a young gent who shoulders a real "man bag", about the size of my wife's bottomless purse. I kid him about it sometimes...but it doesn't faze him a bit. No insecurity there!

I have seen the string case on ebay a couple of times as part of the "case candy" for a vintage banjo or two. I actually have one (though it isn't a Stewart and it is square rather than roundish). Mine is about as brittle as chalk and I won't unsnap the lid for fear of it crumbling to dust. No strings in it anyway...

I see that it "will fit in your vest pocket".   In the UK a vest is a sleeveless undershirt whereas in the USA it is always an outer garment, a "waistcoat", worn over the shirt and under the jacket.  If an undershirt has pockets is it kinky? Note also that it is the string case itself that is kink-proof. Stewart & Bauer make no promises about the the safety of the strings.

I don't know, Ian, there seems to be an abundance of Kinky People here.  We may NEED the protection. :)

BTW, I'll take one.  No insecurities here.
