It's a real place but you're right, Marc. Where are the grease stained walls and the chipped tables? They must cook the meat elsewhere and merely heat it up here. This is far too tidy and sterile  Now I happen to know that Alabama has some powerful BBQ. I found that out in Cleveland Ohio where most of the black work force is from Alabama. They all eat Alabama BBQ (and so does the white work force which is from West Virginia) and they do it in places that look nothing like Joe Morley's.  

But here's the bigger question: does Joe Morley's serve Vess Cola?
