This tune is described by Lincoln as a rag caprice.

It's got a great melody and the whole composition has lots going on. I could imagine someone like the late Bill Ball playing this. It's a real test of musicianship and would probably need  quite some practice to play it well and arrive at a suitable interpretation. For someone like me, who is of the large economy size with hands to match and a touch like an Irish midwife, it's a  bit of a challenge but worth the effort.

DIXIE by Harry J. Lincoln

The score and midi are in the library....Steve.

I don't know how you do it, but you've found yet another gem!

Well done!

Thanks Marc, I tend to search by composer. If I find something I like then I try and see what else has been composed. The 'also by' tail notes at the end of a score usually point me the right way. At the moment I have over 140 tunes by Lincoln sitting on my desk top, many of them are marches of which I've narrowed down 20 which are worth a second look. The Repasz Band was the first of them and I've  nearly completed another..All I need to do is keep Gill and the grand kids on side!....Steve.
