Buster Brown was an early American cartoon strip character created  by the American cartoonist Richard F. Outcault. Buster is shown on the title page with his dog Tige. Nothing is known about the composer however it was published by a London publisher W.H.Broome who also held the copyright so maybe Bernard could have been British.  It's a barn dance/scottische in the style of The Sunflower dance. Fun! I find the illustration interesting...looks almost nothing like either Buster or Tige. Buster was named for Buster Keaton, BTW.

Hi Marc, the picture was probably a British representation of Buster..Steve.
