This one has been listed on ebay for quite some time.  Derrick Doty made this available for me to scan, and now it is on the Archive for anyone to enjoy.

I've been exploring "Artist's Prize Collection #2, transcribing, transposing and tabbing the Frank Converse stuff. "The Devil's Dance" is interesting, as is "The Winona Schottische"...but Frank was way ahead of his time with "The Royal Galop"...as far as I can tell, it requires 27 frets (8va marked notes resulting in, F above that 22nd fret C). Perhaps Frank had them penciled in out on the head...

There are other "issues", unplayable chords (in Winona: low D,G#,Bb,D), rhythmic errors (printer errors?), etc. These are all written in 2 voices (a third sneaks in "Winona") and they gave me fits trying to key them in. I finally re-membered to key the voices in separately...so I essentially had to key the whole scores twice...and painfully, because I'd forgotten many of the tricks to doing so.

I still have to add position markings (Frank uses them very sparingly) for the dots in C Notation. Due to the two voices, the tab is unsightly at best. I'll simply hang the mp3s here so at least you can hear them.

I'm not finding The Winona Schottische in  the table of contents of collection #2.  What page is it on?

Which measure has D G# Bb D? (or maybe 3 half steps lower in A notation?).  Thanks!

It's in the second section, page 40.

The note stack I commented on is transposed to C notation. I don't remember exactly where it is in the piece.

I think it is in the last line, second measure. B, E#, B, D. Maybe...

Devil’s Dance is notable as Vess Ossman mentioned playing it in a letter to Converse.

I’ve tangled with it off and on and eventually got it passable enough to play in the ABF round robin.  Previously, Drew Frech had played it at the Converse themed rally.

This was published in sheet music form and is one of the pieces that the LOC put up two decades ago and was my first source for classic era A notation music.

it is one of my favorite pieces I love to hate.

Ah!  That's B E# G D.  It's still unplayable. In A notation it would be a G7 chord in an unusual inversion.  In C notation it would be D G# A#  F more likely expressed as D Ab Bb F, which makes it  Bb7 chord.  And yeah, it's unplayable.
