[Ray Jones]

As it's Springtime, let us bring a little beauty and romance into the banjo world.     You probably all know this lady, but I have only just discovered her, and she has it all  in my opinion.  Miss Erroll Stanhope (1872-1969). 

  She played Saxophone, banjo, flute, and was a music hall and pantomime artist.   She was often billed as England's Lady Whistler.    Apparently she had a wonderful ability to whistle.   That's a turn on to start with.   I have attached a photo of her, and I ask gentlemen to avert their gaze when looking at that extremely pretty little ankle poised delicately on the small foot stool.

Forget the Gainsborough Lady.   I present the beautiful Miss Erroll Stanhope.

Gosh Ray, she is a stunner.  I take my hat off to anyone who can play the saxophone, flute, banjo and whistle at the same time.

I notice that she has extremely muscular forearms... is that what first attracted you to her?

It was actually the rather thick neck of her banjo.   I thought if she can get her hand around that to play it, there is not much that she cannot do, and whistle at the same time.   From what I understand, she could really whistle the high notes.   They were real women in those days.

How can you even think that John.   If she had fluttered those eyelashes at you, all your strings would go twang !!!
