Hello all

I've come a cross a nice looking Jedson 5 string banjo here:

http://www.findajo.co.uk/#/jedson-ob/4553843266

Does anyone out there know anything about these and how much it might be worth?

A more difficult question would be how would this compare to a Windsor Premier?

Thanks in advance.

There is some info here, but no doubt other members will have more information.

Jedsons were always regarded as "low grade" banjos. I never really liked them.

The one from Findajo is fitted with what appears to be a modern Presto tailpiece...these tailpieces are fine for steel strings but EAT nylon strings. I would give it two minutes before you are filing the tailpiece and fitting a new string.. then another new string... then....

good banjo , Slingerland ' copy ; diameter 10 inches 3/4  i guess ; the tailpiece is not for nylon strings ,

but the Windsor premier is a fine choice , too
