Thank you Rob for this live recording. I agree with Rob, that it is much easier to play when you don't know that there is a red-eyed video monster staring at you!

I really enjoyed that. Esp. the trio (banjo, acccordion, accordion) towards the end. Very cool!

Great performance by Rob Murch, probably the best rendition of "Queen of the Burlesque" I ever heard! I also loved the Jollyboy dance at the end, great stuff!

Seeing as he was taught to play the Banjo by Tom Barriball, one of whose favourite pieces was the "Queen of the Burlesque" I wouldn't have expected any thing else but such a great rendition. I know full well that Tom is looking down on Rob and feeling very proud everytime he plays any piece of banjo Music.

Tom Barriball was playing pieces like the Queen of the Burlesque at 11yrs of age in concerts at the Launceston Town Hall. Other pieces he played then were Yeomans Call, Darkies Dream, Cromartie, Highland Dance, Dancing Queen Schottische, & Rugby Parade. he had been playing the banjo since he was 8 years of age and continued to play it until just before he died in March 2000.
