from the dark recesses of Clarke Buehling's inexhustable music library comes this little tune from 1897.

Banjo arrangement by Caleb Lacy, who I'm not familiar with, and words by Arkansas poetess Ruth McNerney Stuart. Mrs. Stuart was famous in her day for her "dialect" poetry, which is rather different than typical dialect tunes of the day, I should think.
