Enjoyed your rendition. I see you have placed a barrier to prevent your nickel sensitivity problem. I use a similar barrier to prevent dents in the leg.

Thanks Marc for a tune I have not heard before very nicely played.  I am sure that the Pope would be singing along in Latin... if there were any words.

I particularly like your interpretation at FINE. That is my sort of chord, I play them all the time.

Cette Morceau as un parfum des Irlandais, parfait pour La Fete des Paddy, le dix sept.

You're quite right Richard, it has more of a hint of the Shamrock than a Chicken Vindaloo. Maybe he'd consumed too much of the black stuff when he wrote it.

That's a very interesting tune.  I really like it.  It sounds almost like a 'melodic' rendition of a fiddle tune.  Great stuff.

If Grimshaw had the subcontinent in mind — and maybe he did— he was wide of the mark.  I assumed —maybe wrongly— that the Indians in this banjo solo were Native Americans. Comanche, Lakota, Kiowa.  Throughout the 20th century there were any number of "Indian" themed compositions. All one needed was a minor chord somewhere and it was automatically "Indian".  Nice tune, this. It would not be out of place in the repertoire of a bluegrass band. Now I have to go and compose "Cowboy Patrol". It doesn't matter what it sounds like so long as I wear the right hat when I play it.

Put the trio in a minor key, Jody, so you can switch hats from white to black!

Good idea, Marc, but how does one tell a cowboy BadGuy minor from an Indian tribal minor?

Too many Cowboy/Indian/minor jokes in that one, Jody, I can't pick just one. ;-)

When Marc D said he was playing Indian Patrol I had reservations, but after watching the video I couldn’t stop thinking about the tune.

Then I remembered what an old Red Indian Chief had once told me.

He said that had been feeling very sick, so visited the medicine man who gave him a long thin strip of buffalo hide and told him to eat inch of the leather every day.

After a month, the medicine man asked how he was feeling and the Chief’s reply explains why Marc’s tune keeps going round in my head:

The chief shrugged and said, "The thong is ended, but the malady lingers on."
