I love this tune but there are some tricky alternate fingering parts which I inevitably mess-up as soon as hit record.

I agree Jody - It feels more natural and comfortable to play with all five fingers on the longer scale of a tenor banjo. If it's good enough for Gerry.....!
LOL. When I started playing the viola, I had been playing Bach's Cello Suite prelude 1 on the tenor banjo (I think Rob MacKillop got me started on that). Of course, I was going to give it a go on the viola. Apart from my misery at learning the bow, my instructor heard me playing said piece and marveled that I was able to play quite well "up the neck". I said something along the lines of "well, I've been playing this piece on the banjo for a couple years, so all the fingering is the same."
He nearly kicked me out!
Ha ha...oh dear, we've all been there! Hey Marc, you might appreciate this little skit from Leon Hunt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Lv7o_hzllY
LOL. I used to teach banjo at a local coffee shop...and had students like that!
Hi Carrie, that was very well played, well done. I hadn't played this since I did my arrangement, you inspired me to test my aging fingers so I dug out the music and had a run through it this morning....Steve.
Many thanks Steve
