Well done, Marc! What a sweet sounding banjo. Tell us about the setup please. Strings, head etc. and of course the banjo itself. Thanks.
Yet another tune under your fingers in no time at all! Excellent.
Is that a CE wood hoop special Marc, it has a very nice rounded tone and it looks like a rosewood fingerboard.
I think it could be the acoustics of the cupboard that you are locked in :-)
Thanks , Yes , it ' is the very last CE special wood hoop pre_ 1920 i buyed from a French guy ; of course it was setted up with steel strings but now , he is back to the original condition ... . all mapple ( neck_ rim , original CE reso ) & rosewood ' fingerboard _ i guess you , Ian & Alan have quite the same banjo ;
Jody : plastic regular head Remo unmarked ; Savarez KF strings ; and the bridge is a bluegrass bridge with ebony top ; i guess it 's the tune which is fantastic ; i will record this with my father pretty soon
A wonderful sound .Of all the banjos i have heard you play Marc ,that special to mt ears is the best. I would all so say the same when i hear Ian playing his as well .I do not have a camera at the moment ,but i tape record myself on my special ,and think it has that same punchy sound .It must be the wood i think.
I agree with all the comments above, this banjo sounds amazing. It rings like a bell and has got an amazingly snappy banjo quality to it.
