A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
Marc's (trapdoor2) rendition of this tune caught my attention. This is my initial venture into the classic style - a quick webcam recording with some audio/video sync issues!

Bravo! Well played! A fun tune, eh?
Very nice looking Stewart there also.
yes i agree ;very fine playing & banjo ,
BUT ..... ian didn ' t tell you the rules of this forum ? a piece by Joe Morley is supposed to be played on an English banjo ..lol
Superb performance Michael. I have just uploaded Cannon Jig to the scores section and now you are the "STAR" on the entry :-)
Keep the videos coming Michael. It is great to see more and more people playing "Classic Style"
Ian
ps. I could do with a better copy of the score for the library if anyone has one please.
Thanks for the kind words of support!
Regarding the score... I thought I found the file on this sight... but perhaps not. It is a fun tune to play, not difficult. Working on a couple of other Morley pieces, all to be worked out on this fine old Stewart.
Very, very nice! Great floating hand technique, very much like the late William J. Ball (Morley rest his Banjosoul) and that banjo sounds great as well. 5*+
Interestingly, this page indicates that the Cannon Jig may have been
composed in the same year this particular banjo was assembled, 1893.
Though I suppose we can not be 100% certain... which is fine by me!
great little tune i have been watching how you and trapdoor play it in different positions on the neck this helping me as it is on my learning list thanks Alan
