one more played from the forgotten score . ; by the great Herb J Ellis ; sound a lil ' like an exercice but i like this ; Bass is a D / basse en Ré
Really nice tune, Marc!...maybe a little request...is there any chance that you can tape the songs with a little bit of volume? (my apologies if I sounded mean)...this, because some times it´s hard to heard you some parts, and I really don´t want to miss them :(
Hi Marc. Many thanks for letting us listen to your rendition of Broadway Promenade. I really enjoyed it's banjoey sound.
Great tune and well played..can you let us know where to find the dots?
Ellis is very often overlooked as a composer for the banjo because of his great output of 'potboilers' but he knew how to capture the characteristic sound of the banjo in pieces such as this. A really well played version of this tune which every banjoist should play.
merci / Thx
Yes ; i have sometimes Pbs with the sound ' level ( copy & paste from BHO ) :
Thanks to all the members who leaved a comment or " a like " on my videos ; these are almost in classic banjo ' style .
I use the zoom Q3 ( regular not HQ ) for the later videos ; it 's a very good recorder for the youtube ' videos but the input control gain is ......... de la merde ( s*** ? )
In fact , the Zoom ' engineer would have had an economy ; he didn 't added an adjustable potentiometer on the Q3 ; he added only a 3 positions ' button
high gain : our favorite instrument overload it if you 're too close ... you make a video , you have to be close
auto matic : the worse : go from high to low input gain automaticly ; your video will be good for the garbage..
low gain : the only you can use ; but the volume must be uncreased with a software
i have increased the volume not enough on some of my videos ; sorry
Steve , i guess Ian is gonna post the dots in the adequate section
For those who would like to try this piece. Steve Harrison has produced a score for 1st banjo and I have posted this along with the original score, and piano accompaniment, to the MUSIC LIBRARY.
The TAB with the regular C bass for this tune is now available in the music library ' section ;
and i posted a new video in the "learn to play " section where i give some explanations to play this TAB ;
BTW , this lovely tune is easy to play ; don 't hesitate , you will have fun ; best @+marc
Excellent Marc!
Thank you for taking the time to produce your LEARN TO PLAY video.
