A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
Hi Jocko,
looks nice, the arrangements seem to be in bass to D but they sound very musical and tastefully arranged. A bit surprising to see a commercial for a book out of the blue but it's great to know there are more of us out there lurking, sometimes the CB world can feel rather small! Please feel free to share your performances, thoughts, etc. with us :-)
That would be a "Plectrum" banjo tuning (Chicago Tuning = DGBE). The tenor is tuned in 5ths, CGDA (or GDAE, if you're playing Irish Trad).
This is not to say that you couldn't somehow tune a tenor banjo to DGBE but I shudder to think what the string set might look like. ;-)
Looks like there's another Xmas banjo book I need to add to the collection!
Terminology: being an Engineer, I can't hep mysef. ;-)
Interesting tuning, CGDG. I'll have to mess around with it. I have a mandola around here somewhere...
Hi theotherjocko :-)
Very nicely presented compilation of Classic Style Christmas tunes, obviously a lot of work went into this. Perhaps in return for the blatant spam you would like to post a couple of the pieces as "tasters" for members to have a go at, and maybe a video of you playing a favourite of yours?
I notice the compilation is available to purchase and MP3s are available, would you like to give links, details of payment methods, postal costs etc.. or if it it available in PDF format?
Good luck with it.
